2011 Nissan Leaf

Nissan says the average cost of a 220-volt home charging dock is around $2200. Necessary for overnight charging, this too is eligible for a 50-percent federal tax credit up to a maximum of $2000. Get yourself a Time of Use meter on this home electricity and the Leaf’s claimed $3 “fill up” and 100-mile range look even better.

Nissan announced pricing for its Leaf electric vehicle. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price, for the 2011 Leaf is $32,780; its monthly payment begins at $349. Both options include the Leaf’s high-value lithium battery pack. Currently, battery electric vehicles carry a federal tax credit of $7500. Various states have additional BEV encouragements to purchase,

The company has already collected data on interested customers, with formal reservations beginning April 20. Check out NissanUSA.com. The car officially goes on sale or lease in selected U.S. markets in December with nationwide phase-in over 2011.
